Expression builder · zplCore label model
Build and test label expressions. Live with the real engine.
Write an expression such as Format([price], "C", [culture]), give it sample records in JSON and see what every record prints – with the culture, the date and the errors exactly as zplCore produces them.
Learn more: limits, privacy, how it works
The expression is evaluated on the server by ZplCore.Labels.ExpressionEngine – the engine behind TextItem.Expression, BarcodeItem and RfidItem in your .NET project – like a text element of a label bound to the records: fields, paths such as [customer.city], and the job variables LABEL_NUMBER, PAGE_NUMBER, TOTAL_PAGES, RECORD_INDEX, LABEL_WIDTH/LABEL_HEIGHT (preview label in mm). The engine culture corresponds to label.Expressions.Culture (C#); labels from JSON always use the invariant culture, so pass cultures as argument there. Input is not stored. Demo limits: expressions up to 1,000 characters and 24 nested brackets, up to 20 records and 32 KB of data, texts up to 2,000 characters, 30 requests per minute. Every function is described in the expression reference.

Functions
Click to insert at the cursor (around a selection). “Docs” opens the full description with all parameters and examples.
Examples
Loads the expression with fitting sample data; the sample record is the one the reference uses.
In your .NET code
Set the expression on any label element (new TextItem { Expression = "…" } or "expression" in label JSON), register own functions and variables on label.Expressions, and set the engine culture there.
